Yes yes of course it's a proof of concept and far from practical.
But the tech needed to actually shrink it down enough to be a useful infantry weapon would revolutionize everything from drones to electric vehicles in the process.
The gun as it is now has two very serious but easily fixed problems:
it keyholes like a motherfucker - you can see in the slow-mo how the slug thrashes around in the barrel, that should be fixed by reducing the caliber
the magazine - needs a stronger spring and rollers in the lips to reduce friction caused by that
Have seen the Malyuk pop up recently in some vids, seems to be a decent weapon.

Got myself two new toys.
Ruger SR1, 1911 .45Auto pistol. Two world wars etc., yadda yadda. After the Glock I wanted a proper steel framed classic pistol. I didn't feel like going CZ, so I went with the classic. Springfield is quite hard to get in Germany, so Ruger it is.
Beretta 1301 Competition, everyone needs a shotgun I've been told. You can't go wrong with the Italians. Beretta has been making guns for a really long time after all.

a whole new ammo type? that the rest of NATO isnt using?
Maybe that doesnt even matter anymore?
Move form 5.56 was long in the making. Even Arma 3 presented 6.8 as new NATO standard. It was an arms race between what was perceived as protection by modern armor plates (5.56 not even penetrating) and calibers. Only lately we have learned armor plates supposed to stop 5.56 in a major conflict are made out of cardboard and/or stolen iPads/Macbooks.
