Literally all of it is and he insists with this idiotic notion that people expect instant change and burning everything down that he keeps putting into people's mouths.

None of this is about demanding instsnt change. It's about actually trying to get some, any at all, instead of big words and fuck all meaningful action.

It's about actually being assertive with the supposed power one has and actually attempting said changes instead of somehow always bending over like the democrats keep insisting on doing.

Which is exactly what the Republicans did in the first place, if any further evidence for it's efficacy were needed.
I donít think thatís a particularly accurate description of reality when describing a party that has been losing vote share for decades and only holds onto power through gerrymandering, the electoral college, and clinch judicial appointments.

lol get a grip. There is no "just as bad" if the Democrats are a little more assertive about using their power.
so you want 4 years of dem, followed by 4 of repub with each cycle getting more antagonistic then? ok

people aren't talking about being a little more assertive, they're talking about a lot more assertive and unless you want to go full erich and put everyone who voted for trump in the last round against a wall, you need to be able to slowly change these peoples mindsets because otherwise they'll just vote against you, and with more fervour, in the next election.

    Because that worked for Obama.

If your strategy of appeasement depresses the vote of your own base for no appreciable return? Yeah. Anything else is stupidity.

If anything, the shift to the centre has allowed/forced the republicans to take ever increasingly extreme positions due to structural forces some, including yourself, are completely clueless about.

Ah yes, if you kill your enemies they win.

Why do you think politics is getting even more polarised and toxic? It isn't because the Democrats aren't being nice enough to the Republicans.
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.

And they always have a ton of people saying nice things about them. White people anyway.

There is a significant problem that the Republicans have shown endlessly that they're willing to stoop to any level to win and are very intent on dismantling the very institutions that were previously common ground. Eventually you reach a breaking point for people, especially when those Republicans look increasingly like the people that caused the last world war.

I mean, the other way to look at it, is "why negotiate with terrorists?"

Who cares what republicans want. Mobilize enough voters to make their cheating bullshit impossible and then marginalize them like a small african child in the 19th century.

The thing with EU citizens - any citizen - is, that all of what the U.S. does heavily impacts us, too. The world couldn't care (sorry in advance to those randomly picked countries) if it were Ecuador or Luxembourg.

So it's less of an obsession, but more a dependency on the U.S.' actions.

    [Edit]
Eh, long beaten by El Capitano' post and following.
