See nothing wrong with having a dedicated thread for bringing up wank the gaming industry comes up with to rip people off though. Maybe rename it?

I foresee Jim Sterling video links.
A containment thread.
Excellent idea ++
technology can’t solve economic and political problems
There's anecdotal evidence of such things being implemented since forever. They were just first to file a patent. gg legal team.
Also does it mean they can sue Wargaming NA now? Or Gaijin?
Welcome to capitalism gamers. CONSUME CONSUME CONSUME
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.
I make one suggestion and suddenly I'm "good at these things"? Shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
also, you didn't page me yet
Coming up with a title that is just for video games (and not capitalism in general) is hard. Could try something like "Ruining dreams for fun and profit (Corporate malfeasance thread)".
The last bit was good, going to tack that one on the title so it's a bit more descriptive at least.
Not sure if this is the place to post... But I've been dinking around on making myself a game on my spare time over the last year or so. It's both a passion project but also a way to teach myself coding, design and art, so I've been enjoying it.
Since I hate everything regarding the current video game industry (early access, DLC, loot boxes, ect ect ect) my idea when its done is to give it away for free, and if people enjoy it they are welcome to toss me a few bucks via donations.
Stupid idea and I'll never get any money worth anything? Or 'Hey, not bad! Go for it!'?
Yes, that is probably the route to take. I mean, I take it your game can be expanded on and needs patches/updates post release anyway and if people find it enjoyable and would like to see you support it they will chip in on your Patreon.
It's a hobby project, but also your baby that you want to care for. Releasing it for free will not put unrealistic expectations on you, which in turn might kill your motivation in the long run, so it's not a bad idea.
