Why not both?
I bought my way out of being a fatty. Spent €5k on stomach reduction (where they reduce your actual stomach to a puch of about 80-100g). I got this in Dec 2019, and even though the covid lockdown really didnt help, I've lost over 7stone since then. The health benefits have been amazing. Can shag the missus for ages now lol.
Also, I have spent €5k less in food in that time too, so economically the ROI was probably less than a year. Would reccomend 100%. Got it done outside of prague. Sounds sketch but the hospital was great, the surgeon actually pioneered the procedure whilst he worked for the NHS. Has a complication rate of like 0.5-1%. 100% would reccomend to anyone.
Damn, that's a rather good result. Good to hear your health and happiness improved and at a cost that isn't insanely prohibitve, also the ROI lifelong for less complications is pretty much a reason to do it if you can I guess. Will you have any possible digestive issues as you age?
I dont think so because its only a removal of stomach sapce, nothing happens to your digestive tract. There is a more extreme procedure that basically bypasses a lot of your insides, effectivel;y bypassing regions of your intestine that absorb certain things, those guys drop to like 10St and have to have regulr blood tests and take supplements. I'm not expecting anything.
But yeah thet health benefits are amazing, I'm still a mess when it comes to my eating habits, I'm a lot better than I was, but its still hard. One of the best parts of this surgery for that scenario is even if i do have a bad day, go to Tescos and McDs and buy a load of shit. I just cannot physically eat that much food. So even after a really bad day I might not even eat 1/4 of what I would have done previously.
My wife also got the surgery a year before me and she has done amazing, way better than i did.

The problem with gastric banding is that it doesn't address the actual issue that the person has = terrible eating habits. In the long run it helps developing self discipline and good eating habits and the weight does come off - maybe not as easily, but it does - and at the same time you acknowledge the issues and develop habits that will last you a life time.
My point is - take this opportunity to develop better eating habits and at the same time try to take up sports and what not, otherwise the excess skin may become a problem.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for you and congratulations for losing the weight, the benefits *are* that good![]()
Guns make the news, science doesn't.
Capitalism is pretty good at creating food deserts in a country capable of sustaining the world's caloric needs with its own agricultural output.
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.
Eh Ive lost 10 kg since beginning of november just by counting calories. I eat mostly the same food just less of it. Just 5 kg to go till i reach my goal of 79 kg.
Yeah there are large swaths of cities and rural areas were people are poor and overweight, which makes idiots angry if they are on food stamps. Not anyone's fault grocery markets don't even consider them worth exploiting. Not to mention working 50-70 hours isn't a weight loss program, and is usually terrible for eating habits.

How to tell the difference between Machine Learning and AI:
If it is written in Python it is most likely Machine Learning.
If it is written in PowerPoint it is most likely AI.
