This has been in the works for years.
Outside of US, this is probably the biggest of the most advanced air force in the world.
    120 Gripen D & E's + 130 F-35 (when Denmark and Finland gets theirs).

There are more nordic projects in the works.
Denmark, Finland, Norway & Sweden doing a combined uniform procurement.
Another consequence of the Putin’s grand strategy… It’s hard to keep up with all the ways his disastrous Ukraine invasion have backfired on that idiot.
I swear we should start calling him Agent P, because lord knows he's doing everything possible to dismantle Russia to NATO (and China)'s benefit. This ends with the EU (and NATO) stretching from Lisbon to Mariupol (and quite likely Minsk), and enabling the US to make that Pacific Pivot they're always on about while their allies present a united economic front vs China. Meanwhile India is fresh out of friends and hated angloshpere or not, who they gonna call when China comes knocking on their northern borders again?

    Straight from the Einsatzgruppen manual

Russian President Vladimir Putin planned a “total cleansing” of Ukraine with “house-to-house terror” to subdue its people, leaked spy documents reportedly show.

Chilling emails from within Russia’s FSB intelligence service talk about orders “from the very top” for civilians to be taken to concentration camps in a bid to conquer Ukraine.

The emails were leaked by a source within the FSB to Russian human rights activist Vladimir Osechkin, who founded Gulagu, a website that highlights the conditions in the country’s prison system, the US Sun reported.

Not unrealistic. Power shortage in the region.

Yeah, if you're not familiar with them, data centers inhale electricity. A friend of mine who is very plugged in to the finance sector is currently overseeing a large Bitcoin mine (turns out, once the initial rush collapses and people can't usefully mine with their gaming rig left on overnight, there's actually a market for a stable supplier) and situating it in a neighborhood without utterly trashing their power grid (not to mention meeting noise regulations) is exceedingly difficult.

If that center's primary client is TikTok, it's not an unreasonable assertion to make that those videos are a huge drain on a power grid that is at capacity. Now, the veracity of any individual claim in the article can of course be debated, but it ain't crazy in theory.

+ Norways electric grids are seperated I believe in an northern and southern sector, which is why all the data centers are to the north where energy production is stable and you can use old mining shafts next to the ocean for cooling (cooling via sea water is mondo cheap). Downside is supply is limited and can't be expanded by imports, plus side is well there's nobody else.

German car makers have their data centers there, too.

Nop, this is in the south where the ammo factories are, and about as far from the sea as you get in Norway.

Last year there was a amazon and google datacentre about to be build in NL. Project got cancelled, powergrid could not handle it by a long shot and building new infrastructure would take way to long. Also very serious issues with cooling water.

My take is this will be again a matter of logistics, those T55s are quite thirsty.

That's pretty much what Perun also noted in his last video. It all boils down to "an old armoured vehicle is better than no armoured vehicle".

That's also why besides all the talk about sending MBTs to Ukraine, the deliverance of all the IFVs is perhaps the more important fact for Ukraine's ongoing war efforts.

Under any other (maybe) circumstances that would have been a dark, but really funny, reply tbh.

And lets face it, how much of a serious answer would you have given "the daily beast".

Gen Mark Milley testifying before Congress today—“It’s a slaughterfest for the Russians.”

“The Russians are struggling.in a big way with command and control, logistics and sustainment, basic tactical doctrine and also training. These Russian forces are essentially untrained doing direct frontal assaults into machine gun positions etc. and getting slaughtered.

The Ukrainian troops are doing a very effective Area defense that has proven to be very costly to the Russians. For the last 20 to 21 days the Russians have made no progress whatsoever in and around Bakhmut.

So it’s a slaughterfest for the Russians. They’re getting hammered in the vicinity and the Ukrainians have fought very, very well. That’s also true across the entire front line trace—from Crimea all the way down to Kurdistan.

The Ukrainians have fought a remarkable defensive fight and the Russians haven’t achieved any of their strategic objectives…”

So, when is the UKR counteroffensive going to happen? Seems like it's been ages since Kherson and Kharkiv.

I know that being an armchair war-ghoul is worse than being an armchair general, but UKR need to show that they can push back hard this summer. 50/50 the US public gets bored in a year.
