Teachers aren't even respected by the educational structures which employ them. In the UK teachers are paid fuck all for the amount of work they are expected to do.

Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.
I have no idea, but in Germany attacks on rescue teams (medics, firefighters) increase. For various reasons on various occasions, e.g. I remember a news report where voyeuristic spectators at a bigger car crash on the Autobahn attacked the helpers when those arrived and tried to make the spectators move aside so they could reach the injured and help them.
Firefighters and medics/ambulances do not go without police escort to many areas in sweden these days. And last week(s) full scale riots and attacks on police in the wake of that idiot burning a fantasy book was also a nice touch.
I especially enjoyed our media trying their best to obfuscate their (initial) reporting to make is sound like it was the supporters of the book burning idiot that did it. Then of course down playing the actual perps and blaming the police for not being better.
Berlin is testing bodycams. 30 in total, 20 with the police, 10 with the fire department, which also provides most EMS. They are being introduced due to the wishes of both the police union and the firefighters.
Teachers are paid quite well here and still get no recognition. There were a thousand unfilled positions before the last Summer break. People are switching careers, but mostly young people do not want to become teachers.
@duckduck: modern education in the West focuses on training competencies, not rote memorization. Education should be action-oriented (practical, not theoretical), applicable to real life, relevant to the child's life and the child's position in society.
That doesn't excuse bad behavior in class — it's detrimental even. But when parents provide no meaningful consequences at home for bad behavior, then everybody loses.

So much this and i can tell from my own experience. I started do give maths private lessons when i was in my first year of uni and i was already quite good especially at analysis. Having to explain things is a whole different level what worked for me might not work for my students and you have to find an alternative way to get them there.
Your own knowledge and understanding improves so much it is mind boggling.
A good example is how to explain and proof the Pythagorean theorem, there're so many different ways.

Does a population have informed consent when that population is not taught the inner workings of its monetary system, and then is drawn, all unknowing, into economic adventures?
In Finland, the universities have also started to encourage people co-operating on the maths homework problems, as it has been shown to actually increase the skill levels for all involved.
Anybody who has done any kind of teaching knows that explaining subject x makes it also more clear to your self as you need to structure and formulate while many people have a 'gut' feeling understanding of most things. You are confronted with your own understanding and logic flaws when you verbally teach/explain a subject.
Not a paradigm shift i know, just adding to the conversation![]()
Schopenhauer:
All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident..
Maybe the plan is to make classroom sizes so big the very best students have to teach so many of their peers we end up with superior educational outcomes and don't need to pay as many teachers.

Euros are not alone there, UK ambo service staff are often attacked at work.
I was very annoyed when they took the body armour away (we can't afford it for the new staff so no one can have any)..

Teachers aren't respected. Ukrainian soldiers are respected. So send teachers to fight for Ukraine (and they can learn Ukrainian teaching methods inbetween battles) = problem solved!
