It's not wrong to find Jeri Ryan attractive.

To quote Terry Ferrell on Rick Berman:

"The problems with my leaving were with Rick Berman. In my opinion, he's just very misogynistic. He'd comment on your bra size not being voluptuous. His secretary had a 36C or something like that, and he would say something about 'Well, you're just, like, flat. Look at Christine over there. She has the perfect breasts right there.' That’s the kind of conversation he would have in front of you. I had to have fittings for Dax to have larger breasts. I think it was double-D or something. I went to see a woman who fits bras for women who need mastectomies; I had to have that fitting. And then I had to go into his office. Michael Piller didn't care about those things, so he wasn't there when you were having all of these crazy fittings with Rick Berman criticizing your hair or how big your breasts were or weren't. That stuff was so intense, especially the first couple of years."
Seven of Nine was added to Voyager specifically to up the level of "tits and ass" to Berman's acceptable minimum. Despite that, she turned out to be a good character thanks to Jeri Ryan and the writers.
Aye. I've heard the tales of Berman and seen his work, pretty clear what he likes.

To badly misquote George Carlin, Jennifer Anniston isn't a multi-multi-millionaire ex of Brad Pitt today because we were all looking at her shoes.

Hollywood is an industry designed around selling hotness. Selling beefcake. Selling T&A. John Frakes is a horrible actor, but he was pretty damn handsome in his day, and was cast to provide that "Captain Kirk" beefcake role Patrick Stewart wasn't going to fill.

So of course some "misogynist" dickbag like Berman cares about tit size, because tit size sells, and good for Jerry Ryan that it does. That show created her entire career, she is literally where she is today because of Berman's taste in tit size.

Pretty sure Berman was also why Jolene Blalock was cast for Enterprise, and she couldn't act her way out of a paper bag but sure had considerable assets. She's a wealthy woman today because of it, despite not having any acting skill whatsoever.

When Hollywood stops endlessly converting models into "actors", maybe this all might matter more.

Please put it on hold. And then just leave it there.

It says a lot about the writing on Voyager that the two most relatable, interesting, and human characters weren't even human (oh you know what I mean).

And yes, a lot of people back in the day and even still are just gross "lol look tiddies!!" fans, but Ryan did some honestly great work in creating that character, which is yet another thing Picard ruined ~
What I like most about the SevenOfNine character is her comic relief. More than the doctor, for me she is the spiritual successor to Spock and Data.

A character targeted directly at autistic individuals to identify and engage with?

    NGL I quite enjoyed Data's, Odo's and Seven's arcs...

I should read this thread more often.
I was somewhere around Old Man Star, on the edge of Essence, when drugs began to take hold.

I made it to about the 2:30 mark and holy shit, it's like listening to a conversation between all the used condoms from a Jersey Shore shoot.

It reminds me of every "adult" animated show circa 15-20 years ago.

Based on that it'll probably be the most successful Trek franchise ever.

I don't know if this has been mentioned here, but I literally just learned that Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeill have a podcast where they're re-watching every episode of Voyager.

Think how many funko pops it will sell!
Look, the wages you withheld from the workmen who mowed your fields are crying out against you. The cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts. You have lived on earth in luxury and self-indulgence. You have fattened yourselves for slaughter.
