    The Visitor (DS9)
    Yesterday's Enterprise (TNG)
    Way of the Warrior (DS9)
    Trials and Tribble-ations (DS9)
    Sarek (TNG)
    In the Pale Moonlight (DS9)
    Scorpion (VOY)
    Carbon Creek (ENT)

That'll do for off the top of my head, I guess.

I'm guessing the tribble will be the Nemesis of the Klingons before the end of the series.

Certainly dark - couldn't see the ruddy Xenomorph even when I should have been able to.

    Still liking!

I can see how purists will be disappointed but I haven't really enjoyed Trek since TNG.

I didnt enjoy it. The thing I liked about Star Trek was the campy, sort of tongue in cheek corniness with memorable cast and social/political critiques. This isn't looking to be anything like that so I think I'll just stick to the Orville and catch up when the season is over... maybe.

edit: And the writing in Discovery is a special kind of bad.

The camp is optional. I'd gladly take a Trek with minimal camp. But the writing...

yeah same, but I also think that JJbramsNutrek was a welcome change for trek movies..when it's not just SHAKY CAM ACTION BLING MADNESS.

I really liked episode 3, we are seeing a different Starfleet, a darker Starfleet that is not holding back to win the war against Klingons.
There is a very natural reaction to fighting an enemy you seemingly can't win against.

I was a huge fan of the Enterprise show, human traveling around the galaxy with no clue about what they are doing, stepping on many toes. Loved it!

It really wasn't that bad, c'mon. You wanna go another 12 years with no new Trek? If Discovery works out maybe somebody will convince them to do a post Voyager series in the prime universe.

I'd wait another 12 years for something more in line with TNG/Voyager and available over broadcast or cable TV.

Oh wait, I already have Orvi....oh, damn, FOX Cancelled it already.

I think I'm getting too old for this Star Trek show.
It has all the idiotic gimmicks from recent Star Treks:
    - the classic: female Captain goes to do some hand to hand combat with physically superior aliens
    - the recently popular: some minor faction pulls the most advanced ship in the galaxy out of their ass
    - that stupid breath scanner: sure lets ignore all other sensors on the ship and put some shitty biometric scanner that can be easily gamed on the door to our most secret lab...

But sure if you ignore all the stupid it can be quite entertaining.

Silly and corny gimmicks built around a questionable script?

    Definitely Star Trek.

The Orville is more Star Trek than Star Trek: Discovery. CBS did a terrible job. This show will last 3 seasons and be canceled, matching Enterprise and TOS.

Meh, i actualy like Discovery because it doesn't try to be TNG or Voyager or even DS9. So far i like the cast (just please please please keep Burnham a flawed character) and the three episodes appear to be well above the Startrek average.
Besides that, i bet 50 spacebucks that the Discovery or at least it's captain is section 31 affiliated.
