Watched Glass Onion with my sister and her husband last night. Best movie I've seen in years! 5/5, would highly recommend.

I like Glass Onion more. You will have a good time watching it.
Same here. Though both are entertaining pieces. Typically I don't really like it, but Glass Onion benefited from the added comedy relief IMHO.

That said - nothing beats the old Miss Marple movies with Margret Rutherford.

The Menu is the real Hell's Kitchen, if you like comedy-horror movies, this is for you.

Occurs to me that I didn't watch 10 new films this year.

That would have been a decent accomplishment, two new movies a day

Oxygen. Pretty good! Very psychological sci-fi, I must dig into this French/Euro sci-fi more.
My solo pvp video: Yankunytjude... That attitude!
Solo/small gang proposal: Ship Velocity Vectors

I liked the menu too. The ending was lackluster though.

I watched The Guard today. Really fun older movie with Brendan Gleeson etc.

It's not a high budget Guy Ritchie flick, but for what they had to work with it's really good and somewhat similar.

The guard is an incredibly unassuming film that is executed particularly well, it's a lovely surprise.

Sisu is a very finnish story.

In other news on the wankfest Everything Everywhere All at Once won 7 out of its 11 nominations, and Brandon Frasier got the best actor for the Whale.

Just returned from Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

    It was great!

Lots of improvisation, plenty of comedy and "ah shit" moments, occasional brilliance from the team, and faithful adherence to the source material. I also got some freebies: a cloth map provided by DnD Beyond, and a print featuring four characters that I suppose was meant for autographs.

      Spoiler:
The bard was full of himself and played an instrument, the barbarian kicked ass, the druid did lots of shapeshifting, the wild magic sorceror was wild, the paladin was oblivious to social cues, and the rogue was...well...a rogue.

It wasn't perfect, though. I would have liked to see the paladin do more. Bards and druids have magic, but they didn't cast any spells. The portrayals of aarakocra, tabaxi, and dragonborn looked like decent cosplay as opposed to something professional and believable. CGI could have made things better here. The sound mixing could have been better. Even in a theater with Dolby Atmos, I had trouble following some dialogue.

I'm told some of the people from Critical Role were in the film, but I didn't see them.

D&D was fun. B-tier, but fun - although you'd not be robbing yourself of much by waiting for it to be streamable. Hugh Grant seemed to be having fun playing Boris Johnson.

Every role I've seen him in for the past decade seems to be "Hugh Grant having fun".
